  • Contribute to the Ephemere Photo Library

    We are looking for physical photography books and zines to add to the Ephemere Photo Library, a temporary and traveling archive that will be showcased throughout the EPF.

    The Duality of Ephemerality and Permanence

    Featuring at least 100 photographers, this group exhibition explores the intricate relationship between the fleeting and the enduring in our world. Featuring diverse photographic perspectives, it delves into how fleeting moments shape lasting impressions and how the enduring is revealed through the transient.

    To Make A Photography Exhibition From Scratch You Must First Invent The Universe

    Paris-based American photographer Jordan Reyes' debut exhibition wrestles with the unknowable through mixed media. Drawing from his books, he explores untethering and isolation, finding reorientation through humor, animals, and wonder.

  • Ephemere Photo Journal

    Introducing the inaugural print issue of the Ephemere Photo Journal, a landmark publication featuring exclusive articles, special features, and selected photo essays.

    Designed by renowned artist Wuthipol Ujathammarat and brought to life in cooperation with the esteemed Kyoto Shimbun Printing, EPJ will serve as a new cornerstone for our community.

  • Ephemere Photo Library

    The Ephemere Photo Library is a temporary and traveling archive that explores the beautiful paradox of the physical book as both a permanent record and a fragile, ephemeral object.

    This living, moving catalog showcases a diverse collection of books and zines from Ephemere's own titles and artists worldwide, connecting them with new audiences at various events and exhibitions.

  • Photobook Launches

    Witness the debut of new photobook titles, including solo publications by Jordan Reyes, Paula Rae Gibson, and many more.

    We'll also launch compelling group publications like Eroding Forms, a special collaboration with Alternative Processes.

3—Engage in hands-on learning through specialized Workshops led by inspiring artists and brands, providing distinct opportunities for creative exploration and skill development.

  • Corrupting the Image

    Mentor: Andie Riekstina (visiting from Berlin, Germany)

    This workshop challenges the conventional idea of a photograph, exploring it as a mutable medium. Participants will engage in experimental analog and digital practices to rethink what a photograph can be.

    Fee: $50 or ¥7,000
    Class Size: 8 participants only
    Languages: English, German, Latvian, and Russian

  • Intuitive Photo Sequencing

    Mentor: Clay Mills (visiting from Chicago, Illinois, USA)

    Focus on the art of sequencing and editing a body of work into a cohesive narrative. This hands-on session helps photographers build relationships between images and harness their innate artistic intuition

    Fee: $100 or ¥15,000
    Class Size: 6 participants only
    Languages: English with simultaneous Japanese translation

  • I Photograph What I Want To See

    Mentor: To Be Announced

    This 3-day intensive workshop is a deep dive into honing a personal photographic methodology. Create a sustainable and honest practice by focusing on work that feels true to yourself, rather than seeking external validation.

  • Lifting Polaroids

    Mentor: To Be Announced

    This workshop explores an experimental photographic process that redefines what a photograph can be. Participants will learn to transfer instant photo emulsions onto new surfaces, creating unique, transformed artworks.

4—Gain insights from leading voices in photography and publishing during our series of Artist Talks, featuring key individuals shaping the contemporary visual landscape in Japan and beyond.
